Question: Is it wrong of me to want our Anniversary to be a SIGNIFICANT DAY?
My husband and I have been married for 2 years now (yes i know thats not a long time) but today is our Anniversary. On sunday he took me to Catalina Island and we spent the day there, didnt buy anything just went and drank all day. So today I dont even get a “Happy Anniversary” in the morning.. he has known this whole time that our anniversary was today but I get nothing.
Yesterday I asked him if he wanted to go to some event today and he was like “Yeah I dont have anything special planned”.. DOESNT THAT SOUND LIKE HE DOESNT CARE???.. And I know some of you may be thinking he will surprise me with something or other but no, my husband is not like that..
So this morning he was like ‘are you mad?” and I told him I just wanted today to be significant and important. and he was like “fine lets go to dinner”… What the hell?.. is it me? Am i asking for too much from him? All i want him to do is CARE that it is our anniversary.. THATS ALL..
For the record.. I saved a LOT of money all year and bought him a dj set that he had been wanting since he was in High School. So I am not just being selfish waiting for him to shower me with gifts

He probably does care that it’s your anniversary, but his idea of a celebration just doesn’t sound the same as yours. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he doesn’t care, it just means that it doesn’t mean as much to him to do something as it did to you.

When atheists ask about why God didn’t avert some horrendous event, we’re told that “it’s all part of God’s plan”. When atheists then ask what plan could God have that requires such incredible cruelty and suffering, we’re told that “it’s not for us to know God’s plan”.
So if we’re not to know God’s plan, how can you say with any confidence at all that the events in question actually ARE part of God’s plan?

Apparently God’s plan is to cause suffering to people whom his believers don’t care about. Have you ever noticed that when presented with the fact that there are many suffering people in the world, the Christians show no sign of empathy or sorrow for them? Hell, they barely even acknowledge it!

Yet the greatest scientific explanation for the world is “The unconscious process known as chance gradually brought this world and all the billions of wonderful living things in it into being without planning”.
In short, these people regard chance as a god.
