Question: “Day Of Planner” – anyone use one? how costly is it?
I am giving this serious thought because I am doing TONS of stuff all by myself and cannot be in 5 places at the same time and feel really guilty asking a family member to handle some of this stuff when they would be using that time to get ready for the wedding themselves or possibly miss the ceremony to attend to things at the reception location.

The stuff I’m concerned about – -
Setting up the centerpieces, putting out place cards, making sure cake is delivered and setup properly, picking up the flowers (its bouquets & boutenierres only), making sure the flowers get to the right people that are outside the wedding party (Moms, Dads, Godparents).
AND I might need someone to work a CD Player or Ipod during the actual church service.

And all that stuff could be done by someone else while I am getting my hair done and getting dressed and all that stuff.

Am I stressing over nothing or am I right to worry about these things getting done right and on time?
April – good point about the venue. They do say they are willing to do things. But my co-worker’s daughter had her reception in the same exact place I am and she ran around last-minute correcting the venue’s little boo-boo’s.
Such as not setting the cakes out the way the bride wanted – - – bride had cheesecakes & pies and bought a tiered dislplay for 5 of each to put out. They put out 10 cheesecakes and left the pies in the back!

I am in the same boat as you. I just bit the bullet and hired a day of coordinator. I LOVE doing all the stuff myself, but like you said, cannot be there to oversee it all. Plus, I want to relax and enjoy my day. I want to see my hard work come together. I am handling all the details and hiring of vendors and such and Kimberly will take over and run the rehearsal and then the day of stuff.

She arrives on site at 7am the day of and will stay through the end of the ceremony. I don’t need her for the reception as Ihave very professional caterers and service staff to do that .

She will over see the decorating and total set up of the ceremony site and the reception ( both in the same place) . What a load off my mind. She is also including the decor for my site ( it was a June special).columns, runners, draping and live plants.
I am paying her $ 1200. I think I got quite a deal.

I would DEFINITELY do it. I was not iniotially planning on the expense of a coordinator, but without her , I am not sure how i coul dpull it all off. I don’t want to put my friends to work. I want them to be guests and enjoy our magical day. Now I do not have to worry a bit.

Do it, it is the most special day of you life and you want to remember it fondly.
