Question: What are some good love songs from movies?
I want to make a list of good love songs from movies. I have some in mind including very obvious ones like “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith from “Armageddon” and some obscure ones like “Plan on Forever” from “The Wedding Planner” to cute ones like “Anyone Else But You” from “Juno.” Any other suggestions?

Question: Need some help on model release form…?
I have a friend who invited a “professional” photograher to his wedding as a guest. The photographer took some pictures of the couple and posted the work on her website. When my friend asked for a copy of the pictures the photographer refused to give them a copy, saying that those are copyrigted work.
Quote from the photographer:
“there is no work for hire agreement btw you and me, so i have no obligation to give away my copyright work. So, it’s really up to what I feel like doing.”
What should my friend do??

If the photographer is selling them, she did not get a release so she probably can’t sell them.
At the wedding the people had no expectation of privacy, so there isn’t much you can do.
You can probably get the photos taken off the website but that would be a legal matter.
As long as no agreement was made before the photos were taken, the photographer is under no legal obligation to give or sell the photos to your friend. Any person in the photos, given no release was signed, can legally request the photos not be diplayed or sold and the photographer must comply.
I think the underlying issue is deeper though and that if you get to the root of the issue that you will get the pictures and or the issue will be resolved better. This is a person that was a friend that was invited to a wedding. Maybe she feels slighted that she wasn’t asked to do the photography. Or maybe there was some other misunderstanding or some unhappiness that she feels. I would try to have some nonconfrontational meeting with her over coffee at non threatening place and see what’s up. Maybe it is something you can resolve.

My husband & I will be attending a wedding out of town & are paying for our hotel rm. For some very close friend’s
daughter’s wedding on:7/707.
I rec’d. a call from the mother of the bride wanting to know; if we would contribute to help the bride(her daughter) & groom pay for half of their “Wedding Favors”? I said yes.
I assumed the amt. for us would be nominal ! “These wedding favors/candy” (I believe with their Nm’s., wedding dt.,to give to their wedding guest). Obviously cost $ 350.00 total. Because, I received an e-mail from the bride thanking us (in advance) for the $ 150.00 & an address where to send the check). -
My ?: Is it proper for any bride to request financial assistance from (non-immediate family member’s)? The bride is an
“Event Planner” for a major restaurant chain. Lastly, how much should I spend on a wedding gift? Esp., since, they did not state..for the wedding favors in lieu of a wedding gift ! my email is: BRENDITA@HUGHES.NET Thank you for your reply!

If you decide to help them and pay the $ 150 I would not give a gift, and just state that helping them with favors is your gift to them.
Or, pay what you wish to help them out with, and add another gift if you wish.

A good friend of mine asked me to be the “photographer” at her brother’s wedding. When she got married, she was on a really low budget, and I offered to “take pictures” at her wedding (more just for fun on my part). She said her brother liked the pictures and said he was willing to pay me. I don’t mind doing it because I really just love taking the pictures, and getting paid would be a bonus. The thing is, I by no means would call myself a professional. Please look at some pictures on my flickr site and tell me what you think I should charge??? I have no clue what I should charge. Oh, and I do have a Canon dslr camera now. The pictures on the link were taken for my own amusement with other cameras that I have. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

If they are already happy with your wedding work, then go ahead and shoot it.
What to charge? At least $ 500 if you are going to “give” them the photos.
Pros get $ 3000 and up to shoot the wedding and reception. Prints are extra. Knowing this you should be able to give them a good deal, but still make enough to buy a new lens maybe
